Art at the Dungeon Presents Lawrence Pryor

Los Angeles, CA -- “Art Studio Nudes, Featuring Lawrence Pryor”, the first in the “Art at the Dungeon” series, will be held at Sanctuary Studios LAX 10914 S La Cienega Boulevard, Lennox, CA 90304, March 30th, 2019 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. The charity event, ChamPAIN is to follow, 8:00 P.M. - 2:00 A.M.

Boston, Massachusetts based Lawrence Pryor has been selected to inaugurate the series “Art at the Dungeon” to be held at Sanctuary Studios LAX. Sanctuary Studios in Lennox, California hosts community events for the LGBTQK+ Community. The photography of Lawrence Pryor will be on display for one night only.

Pryor has been a presence in the international art community for 30+ years with dozens of exhibitions including his photography, painting, and bronze sculpture. Art at the Dungeon on Saturday, March 30th will consist of two main parts. The first part consists of a series of art studio nudes of performer-songwriter Amanda Palmer.Palmer is the lead singer of The Dresden Dolls, Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchestra, one half of the duo Evelyn, Evelyn, and continues as a solo artist. The second part will consist of other studio nudes, depicting the intimate interaction of men and women. This exhibition will be accompanied by a book “Amanda Palmer, Photographs by Lawrence Pryor” including many of the photographs of Amanda Palmer presented in the exhibition.

The Exhibition and artist’s book “Amanda Palmer’ are a revisioning of the critical relationship of the photographer and the model/performance artist at the outset of their creative careers.This series is an expression of the creative ambitions, risk taking and genuine collaboration of artist and performer.

A charity party will follow immediately at Sanctuary Studios from 8:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M.  The ChamPAIN Room is a strip club themed BDSM play party with a for-charity twist. Amateur and professionals will dance, strip, or perform all night. BDSM play is allowed during the event. General admission is $25 at the door, $10 for performers and $250 for VIP guests. Donations in any amount are welcome and go towards any of the featured charities. ChamPAIN guests are required to sign up for a free Club Algos membership on Eventbrite by 6:00 P.M. This event is organized and presented as an all-inclusive activity that welcomes all people no matter their gender, identity, or orientation. Door prize for anyone who shows up dressed as Amanda or nude.
